Wine Mystery Dinner 🍷

I had the pleasure of curating and presenting the wine line-up for a client’s annual Wine Mystery Dinner, an event I’ve now been invited back to run for the fourth year.

The concept is simple, but brilliant.

Each table becomes a team.

For each round, guests are presented with three possible wines.

Three speakers each try to convince the room that their wine is the correct one.

Only one of them is telling the truth.

The result?

Plenty of laughter.
Plenty of debate.
Plenty of bold claims, convincing arguments and good-natured banter.

My role is to curate the wine journey, selecting seven exceptional wines to pair with the dinner and create the perfect rhythm for the evening.

The food was impressive, from kombu-cured tuna and crispy skin barramundi to grilled eye fillet and warm chocolate fondant.

What makes this one of my favourite wine tasting events is the way it brings together wine, theatre, competition and conversation in a format guests genuinely remember.

It’s far more than a traditional wine tasting.

It’s an experience.

And after four years, it’s wonderful to see how much anticipation and energy this format continues to create.
